Cosmopolitan Civil Societies (CCS) is an interdisciplinary research initiative at the University of Technology, Sydney that brings together scholars from a range of disciplines in the broad social sciences and humanities. It investigates from multi-disciplinary perspectives the practices that are crucial in enabling social cohesion and change in cosmopolitan societies. The Cosmopolitan Civil Societies research initiative draws on the expertise of the University’s teaching and research staff in the areas of: Management, Education, Communication, Cultural Studies, Social Change, Social Enquiry, Leisure, Sport & Tourism, International Studies, Urban Sociology, Sustainability, Community Studies, Finance & Economics, Built Environment, Engineering, Globalisation.
CCS contributes to the UTS Research Strength in Creative and Civil Societies.
