Biography
As Senior Lecturer in exercise and sports science, Mark has extensive experience with the physiological assessment of athletes, along with several research interests in the area of applied sports science. Mark’s primary research focus is the examination of muscle stiffness as it relates to soft-tissue injuries in athletes, and his other priority area of research is the investigation of physical activity interventions for the older population. Mark teaches in the areas of exercise physiology, nutrition, measurement of human performance and exercise management for special populations. Mark has also worked as a Sport Analyst in the Sports Science department at the Sydney Academy of Sport over the past decade, where he has worked with athletes from a variety of sports including swimming, athletics, triathlon and the statewide talented athlete program.
